Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoda – Your specialist for no-scalpel vasectomy
For permanent contraception, we perform vasectomies using the no-scalpel method in our private practice in Düsseldorf.
- A particularly gentle intervention by an experienced practitioner
- Minimally invasive without a large incision
- Low pain: the procedure is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia
- Treatment lasts a maximum of 20 minutes
- Infertility is achieved approx. six weeks after the procedure
How the no-scalpel vasectomy works in Düsseldorf
1. Preparation and anesthesia
The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis and under local anesthesia. The surgery itself takes about 20 minutes. First, the skin of the scrotum is punctured to create access.
2. Severing of the sperm duct
Through the tiny opening in the skin, we expose the sperm duct in question with special instruments and cut it. No large skin incision is necessary as with other methods.
3. Aftercare and healing
Self-dissolving sutures fall off by themselves after about two weeks. We check the ejaculate for sperm four to six weeks after the procedure.

Weitere InformationenHow the surgical severance of the sperm duct works
The sperm that fertilize the woman’s egg and thus lead to pregnancy are formed in the two testicles. They migrate from the testicles to the associated epididymis, where they mature. The sperm ducts contract sharply during sexual intercourse, allowing the sperm, the fluid from the seminal vesicles and from the prostate to enter the urethra. Ejaculation occurs during orgasm. The seminal fluid is expelled along with the sperm.
Surgically severing your sperm duct prevents the sperm from entering your seminal fluid. Ejaculate continues to be released during sexual climax. However, the fluid no longer contains any sperm. This means that the egg can no longer be fertilized.
Vasectomy in Düsseldorf: Small intervention – big effect
We perform male sterilization gently using state-of-the-art technology – minimally invasive, virtually pain-free and without long downtimes. Request a personal, no-obligation consultation to answer all your questions.
Caution: You are not infertile immediately after the procedure!
After a vasectomy, sperm cells are no longer transported through the sperm duct. However, they are still added to the ejaculate after the severance point on the way to the prostate. This means that you are not immediately infertile after sterilization. Only after a few ejaculations are all the sperm “flushed out”.
The ejaculate is analyzed in the laboratory six and twelve weeks after the vasectomy. These analyses show whether sperm are still present in the fluid. After this period, sperm cells are usually no longer detectable. If this is the case, we can reliably determine infertility. Until then, you should still use contraception such as condoms.
